There are quite a few people who will just slate every new kit, regardless of whether it's objectively any good or not. It happens every year.
I think the farewell Boleyn kit was the most favourably received one I can remember in recent times. A few detractors but less than usual. (Maybe you can count the TIW kit from last season too)
Any departure from plain claret torso and plain blue arms isn't that well received. Sadly as is the case these days if we want a 'top' kit manufacturer, (Adidas, Umbro, Nike) then we have to just pick a template from this year's style which I think really cheapens it. A lesser manufacturer would probably do something bespoke for us, but then you get certain people who don't like having a 'shit' kit manufacturer.
This one looks a bit weird with the blue patches going all the way to the neck and not all round the arms, but then again that Fila kit (Di Canio's goal season) was similar and it didn't look so bad. Last season's was a bit weird with the blue running down the sides of the torso but we all got used to it.
Probably a lot of kit criticism and debate comes from the fact there's not usually a lot else going on at this time of year so it's something to talk or grumble about. It'll all be a forgotten issue when the players are running about in it come August. Almost all the kits look decent when actually being worn as intended on the pitch.

It's a football shirt, it's claret and blue, it's got our badge on it., therefore I'm happy.
Any adult wearing a replica top and not exercising is pretty much guaranteed to have purchased the rest of their wardrobe from TK Maxx or a market stall.

If they are doing colour matches on the shirt in the bottom pic ...
The claret should all match the colour on the upper part of the chest
The blue should be somewhere between whats on the shirt and the colour of the shorts hanging on the rail to the left

Ive said before but i'd rather Umbro give us a tailoured design but as it looks like we have to have the same as Everton but with different colour schemes and its miles better than their effort

Haven't had a shirt since 2003. And that was bought as a birthday present, so I shouldn't moan as I don't buy them.
However. Why are there three THREE shades of claret on that shirt, surely the badge claret should match one of them. Shit. Lettering and hammers should be blue in the badge too.

The shorts have now been changed to plain white with the badge on one leg and a claret Umbro on the other leg. The socks are also white with a thin Claret hoop and a large light blue hoop near the top. There is a Claret Umbro badge in the middle and some Claret stripe hoops near the ankle which looks a bit like a barcode. The goalkeeper kit that goes with the home shirt is all yellow except for some green going up to the arm and under the arm pit down to the elbow on each sleeve. The shorts and the socks are exactly the same as the outfit kit except they are yellow and where there is a light blue hoop on the socks it is a green hoop. There are two potential dates schedule for the launch one is next Thursday the 15th of June (which I think will be the new date due to the online leaks) or the original date of Wednesday 21st June.
There is a third shirt and this is all light blue with a thin claret ending to both sleeves and a button collar which the other shirts do not have. The shorts are white with a Claret stripe running down each side. The keeper shirt for the third shirt kit is all dark green with claret in the same place as the green on the home keeper shirt. This shirt is due to be released just before the season starts.
